Radio Frequency Over Glass (RFoG)

Radio Frequency over Glass (RFoG) is a type of passive optical network protocol that can reduce system noise and enable a greater downstream and return-path spectrum.

RFoG is used to increase network system capacity, often in point-to-multipoint systems. This enables fiber to the premises (FTTP) communications that are less labor-intensive, in terms of installation, and more reliant on traditional hardware for controls.
RFoG is approved by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
